About The Supper Bell
The Supper Bell is a recipe discovery index. This page is why we built it, how we rank what we find, and how we treat the publishers whose recipes we list.
Last updated October 3, 2026.
Why this exists
We loved Punchfork — until it stopped adding anything new. Its best trick was always surfacing the low-ingredient, big-flavor, fast-to-cook recipes right at the top. That is the method The Supper Bell follows for its own ranking, while giving you more to work with per recipe than Punchfork ever did, and more than Supercook and the other pantry apps do today.
“This app is built because it's simple at first and can be as complex as you want it to be. Just like your recipe.”
What we do
We index recipes published by food blogs, rank them in the open, and send you to the publisher's own page to cook. We index; we do not republish.
Every result on browse explains its own sort under “How we rank these,” at the foot of the results: Top and the 1–100 rank are a time-free quality score — a recipe's age never counts against it — Trending leans toward what's new this week, New sorts by publish date, and Quickest by total time.
Nothing in the house? Cook from your pantry ranks what we index by how much of what you already have it uses.
How we treat publishers
We never copy the method. Every recipe we list sends you to the publisher's own page to cook it, and we credit them by name wherever we show it. What we store is the title, source link, publisher, publication time, thumbnail, and the ingredients, times, yield, nutrition and ratings a publisher's page already publishes — never their instruction steps.
We honour robots.txt, noindex and noimageindex directives, and recorded opt-outs: an opted-out publisher is never fetched again. See /crawler for exactly what we keep, how to spot our crawler in your logs, and how to ask us to stop.
